Hello Class,

Loving Kindness practice- this practice can allow you to open your heart to others and remove ones self centeredness.

Subtle mind practice- taming the mind is important to  practice.  To cease the mental movement and thought.

Both practices can be beneficial.  Mental workouts are beneficial to us.  One hour each day adds up.  like any work out, if you stop working out your mind you will see its abilities decrease.

  1. Shennen,
I was just wondering if you were able to complete the exercises and reap the intended benefits from them? I like your definition of the Subtle Mind - "To cease the mental movement and thought"...I have trouble with this because my mind wonders so much. Even during prayer, I find my mind thinking about other things. I would love to be able to mentally push thoughts out of my head and recapture my focus on the intended pathway. Maybe someday....after lots and lots of practice.:0)
    Blessings,
    Tennille
